US Not Winning War i

U.S. Not Winning War in Iraq, Bush Says for 1st Time - washingtonpost.com

No we can’t win Mr. Bush

Unlike the United States where we are able to restrict entry into our country, Iraq’s borders are virtually impossible to close. This is the problem we face trying to bring stability to the country. Since we have no way to restrict militant guerrillas from entering the country, or leaving for that matter, it has been nearly impossible to stop the violence. The sooner Mr. Bush and the rest of the military realize that they are in a sinking boat with so many holes in it and that water is entering faster than they can bail it out the better. Unfortunately the ship is sinking faster than we can bail. Sure you can bring in more buckets to bail it out faster however there are still the leaks that can’t be fixed. Eventually the boat is going to sink. The sooner we wake up to this fact the better.

There are come wars you can’t win and this is one of them. Not only is Mr. Bush desperately trying to save a sinking ship he also has to deal with hostile nations next door that don’t what us there either. Increasingly we at home are putting pressure on the President and Military to end this senseless war and bring our boys home. We are sick and tired of losing loved ones in a war we can not win. The sooner the administration realizes that the better.

It’s about time we abandon ship, don’t you think?

Wheres the Money Mr

Where’s the Money Mr. Green?

Now that the election in over, what is the election commission going to do about all that money Mark Green has stashed away illegally in his campaign fund? Strange how the silence is deafening. Not one single word from the Courts or the Election Commission. Wisconsin Citizens want to know what is going on. I for one want to know where that money is or if it got spent or funneled into some new account hidden from view.
“If I don’t say anything, perhaps it will go away.” Is that what you are hoping Mr. Green? My answer is categorically “No it is not. Not on your life.”   Believe me, one thing I hate is crooked politicians. Now I hate to say that you might be one of them, but you must come clean and straighten this out right away.
If any Wisconsin official is reading this, I demand that you take the proper action and settle this matter. A determination must be made and a public disclosure made. If he should not have it, then it should be given back or donated to charity. If he illegally spent it then he should be prosecuted according to law.

The Bully President

The Bully President is at it again!

The problem as I see it is that Bush has had time to regain his composure after the election and resume his usual bully attitude. Several recent TV appearances have shown this to be true. Just after the election when many republicans lost their seats in the Senate and Congress, President Bush was stunned and repentant. The turnout of the elections stunned him. He became contrite and dropped his bully attitude. Since that time he has tested the waters and once again has resumed his bully attitude mainly because congress has at least for now not stood up to him and insisted that he change his ways, or else.
We all should be aware that once a bully regains his vice-grip on the situation and his minions once again regain their composure knowing that they will not be threatened because they once again are under his protection will continue to punish us unmercifully.
Those who won office must not loosen their grip and let this bully slip out of their grasp. If they do then it will be back to his old tricks and we will have to start all over again to regain the power we thought we had. We must continue to be forceful in our desires. If we want to get out of Iraq and if we want peace in the Middle East, we need to keep pounding the gavel insisting that congress and the senate stay the course and force the conservatives to back off. This is not the time to back down under the pressure of the rank and file technocrats under Bush’s control.
The problem is we have the attitude that “We Won” so now we can sit back and enjoy the victory. WRONG. We need to be ever vigilant and maintain the pressure to change the mistakes we have made in the past. We haven’t won, the battle is still before us and we must persist. We must face the fact that Bush is a bully and he got us into this mess, now it is our turn to get us out of it. Ain’t that the truth?

Some Americans Lack Food, but USDA Won't Call Them Hungry - washingtonpost.com

Some Americans Lack Food, but USDA Won't Call Them Hungry - washingtonpost.com

Shame on the USDA This is insulting

There are millions of people who are homeless and starving and without enough food to feed their families and the USDA shamelessly now refers to them as 'very low food security.' To me and thousands across the country this sort of tactic is shameful. Whoever the uncaring individual is who came up with this dehumanizing phrase should be fired from his or her post immediately. I think we the American people need an apology for this disgusting terminology.
The needy and homeless are treated badly enough without heaping more insults upon them. I think that anyone who reads this disgusting and insulting terminology should speak up and demand an immediate end to this type of demeaning claptrap.
I'm mad as hell and you should be too.

Wisconsin bans Gay M

Wisconsin bans Gay Marriage
First of all I voted NO to the Gay Marriage amendment not so much for the Gay part of it but because of the second sentence which read that it will deny anything that resembles marriage for unmarried couples.

In my opinion, if you want to get married, then no one can stop you. It is not necessary for the Government to put their stamp of approval on it. It is between you and God, and that is all that matters. It is not about monetary benefits that come with government sanctification. Yes I do agree that those freebies are nice, but they are not necessary and may not even be wanted.

I personally don’t like marriage in any form. In my opinion it really sucks. Just look at the divorce rate for one. Then comes the bickering about who gets the TV and the furniture or the house. After that come the Kids. These are the ones I really feel sorry for. A lot of the time one parent plays the child against the other parent causing irreparable psychological harm to the child. The Kid feels bad because they think that they are the cause of the divorce. If that isn’t bad enough, parents act as though the child is some sort of property, not a human being with feelings, and fight for custody accordingly.

As far as I am concerned if the religious traditionalists want one man and one woman for their marriage, I say let them have it. I really don’t want any part of it. Does that mean I do not want to get married? Perhaps not in the traditional sense. That is my choice. If I make a covenant it is between us and God, not the government. I’ve lived sixty one years without a handout from the government. I think I can survive the rest of my life without them. Perhaps I’m an old curmudgeon, me and the government have never seen eye to eye anyway.
Ain’t that the truth?

Closet cases in the

Closet cases in the Republican Party

It’s very interesting how many closeted homosexuals there are in the Republican Party and in the current administration. Of course I’ve been reading the articles in the New York Times and the Washington Post and in my local paper about the scandals that are surfacing in the GOP. It is just amazing.
I find it amusing that the ones who scream the loudest about the supposed homosexual agenda are homosexual themselves. Deeply closeted ones to boot. Perhaps it is our puritanical upbringing and the constant ranting and the brainwashing of our young people about the supposed evils of being Gay in America has caused many to repress their sexuality and sexual desires. I think that this deep denial has caused many a person to have psychological problems later in life. Suppressing their feminine side and their desire for same sex relationships. Many choosing to go after much younger people who are not tainted by many years of the religious ranting. You have to remember that many of the kids today are not as victimized and are more open to alternative lifestyles than we, the older generation.
The religionists talk about the Traditional Family and how Gays and Lesbians will destroy their supposedly sacred tradition of Heterosexual Marriage. What they fail to realize is that there is no longer many Traditional Families left in our society. Like ostriches they have had their heads stuck in the sand for so long that what they once thought was tradition has passed them by and long time ago. Like many of our old folks they are stuck in the past without any concept of what is happening in the here and now. It is unfortunate and sad that this has been allowed to happen. It is also extremely dangerous that they want us to turn back history through religious extremism.
Now they are trying to pass an amendment to the constitution that will not only ban the rights of Gays and Lesbians but Heterosexuals to anything similar to marriage. Those who have gone through terrible divorces still want a partner but without the stigma marriage entails. Many of them don’t need all the privileges the state grants through marriage, only some of them. This mean spirited action will deny that. Perhaps you know someone who has a partner living together. How would you feel if these privileges were taken away? I wouldn’t be very happy either.
Now I know that there will be someone out there that will say that these privileges can be gained by hiring a lawyer to draw up the proper paperwork and filing them with the proper authorities. For some that is all well and good, but why make those who’s income barely meet their needs divert the money they need to live on to lawyers fees? That’s just stupid.
Besides that, no church or denomination will be forced to marry anyone if they choose not to. They are lying to you if they say otherwise. Only those churches that choose to honor these relationships will do so. It’s that simple, and no it won’t do anything to your marriage. The sanctity of marriage is between you and God not some human being or church no matter what they say. All the freebies you get from the State are gravy, nothing more. Believe it.
It is in everyone’s best interest that we vote NO on the amendment in November.

Secret Reports Dispute White House Optimism - washingtonpost.com

Secret Reports Dispute White House Optimism - washingtonpost.com

AT LAST THE TRUTH ABOUT IRAQ

S
hrtub who never experienced the Vietnam War or learned from it went inot Iraq with guns blazing with Shock and Awe in the grandiose of the typical cowboy from Texas that he is. No one in the White House apparently plays Chess either. If they had they would have considered the effects of each moves they could make and their consequences.
If you check my posts, I said it from the beginning, this is a war we can not win. I thought that after the Vietnam War we had learned our lesson. Apparently we didn't and now we are suffering the consequences. It isn't as though we shoulden't have gone in there. We should have done a Surgical Strike covert operation if you will) to take out Saddam. At the same time we should have been working with the government and Saddam's Army to stabalize the country and install new leaders for a smooth transition wothout incuring the wrath of the rest of the people.
As we are all too well aware that is not what happened and now we are paying the price for a very poorly planned and executed plan. The sooner we extricate ourselves the better. Isolate them if need be and stand by the sidelines and watch the country sink into civil war. When all is over then we can offer assistance to build a stable government without strong arm military intervention.

JS Online:Green plans appeal

JS Online:Green plans appeal

they're at it again or more crooked Republicans

Mark Green A Republican running for Governor in the ?State of Wisconsin illegally transferred $467,844 in out of state federal PAC funds into his state campaign fund. He plans to appeal the decision to the states Supreme Court. Sounds like the same underhanded tactics Shrub has been using to circumvent the legal restrictions set in place to curb unethical practices.
As many should know Green is one of the far rights extremist candidates in Wisconsin upcoming November elections. Firmly in bed with the Religious Right, he plans to further curb our civil rights if and when he is elected. He is against Stem Cell research and the Constitutional amendment to restrict Gay marriage or any form of partnership agreement currently recognized in our state. Not only is it anti-religious but it is mean spirited.
It is my sincere hope that the courts uphold their decision and force Mr Green to divest the illegally transferred out of state federal campaign funds.
Personally I think that no candidate should be allowed to accept out of state funds for use in political campaigns. Not only that, I think it should be illegal for any out of state group be allowed to participate or be used in any manner in political campaigns. These companies or groups should be required to be registered in Wisconsin and abide by the laws governing political PAC's rules and regulations. We need a even playing field the funds be restricted to a certain amount (cap if you will) and then be forced to work within these caps. That would make the playing field more even for each candidate. They would then be forced to run on their reputation, not by how much money they can accumulate.
That would make come very interesting elections, don't you think?

Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Worsens Terror Threat - New York Times

Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Worsens Terror Threat - New York Times

It took them how long to figure this out? I said that from the beginning that invading Iraq would intensify terrorism throughout the worls, but would anybody listen? Of coursae not. I live in the midwest, the heartland of the USA and if I can see it, why can't they?
The problem as I see it is that our government officials consistently have been painting a rosy picture to the people while glossing over the truth that terrorism and radicalism is steadly growing in the middle east. When are they going to get it? THEY DON'T WANT US THERE. Plain and simple.
Isn't it about time we said "enough is enough. Lets get out NOW." THIS WAR IS UNWINABLE. Take a hint from the movie War Games. Some wars are not worth fighting and the best strategy is not to fight them at all.
Like the fight against Gays and Lesbians and Marriage, religious leaders in both country's see an opportunity to stir up the sheeple into a frenzy of hatred and intolerance. In the USA it is about religious intolerance, but in Iraq it is not so much about religion but about hatred that has been simmering below the surface for centuries. It is one group against another for a fight for what is considered holy land. It is feudal war lords or tribal leaders against other tribal leaders for ppower not Democracy, something they have no concept of and want nothing to do with. They hate us because we are trying to force it down their throats and they will do anything to stop it including genoside.
There will be civil war, you can bank on that. I don't think we need to be there when it does. What we should do is watch fromn the sidelines from a safe distance. Contain the violence if we must, but for the most part let it run its course. Perhaps then after all is done we can come back to the negotiating table.
We need to hightail it to higher ground. Let them fight it out. Then and only then should we decide if it is worth it to continue.
What do you think?

U.N. Inspectors Dispute Iran Report By House Panel - washingtonpost.com

U.N. Inspectors Dispute Iran Report By House Panel - washingtonpost.com

MORE LIES LIES LIES, DO THEY THINK WE ARE STUPID?

How stupid is this administration? This is the most corrupt administration I have ever seen. The Washington Post even has a link to the Letter (in pdf format) by the IAEA to the White House calling it misleading and outrageous.
We all know that the supplies of oil are diminishing and will soon be depleted if we don't turn to alternative fuels in the near future. Other nations know that too and are taking steps to curtail its use. One of those steps is to return to Atomic Energy for electricity to run their country's infrastructure.
Atomic energy if used safely and the spent fuel disposed of properly is a good alternative. Indeed if it is used to produce atomic bombs it can be very dangerous to mankind's survival. Everyone on earth knows or should know the dangers its improper use can be and its long term effects (just ask the Japanese and the Russian people concerning the tragedy of Chernobal)
Mr President you pulled the wool over our eyes once but you can't do it again. You lied to us about the supposed Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq and now you are trying to do it again with Iran. Well I've got news for you, its not going to work. We are wise to you now and we are not going to let you get away with it again. Not now or ever.
Ain't that the truth?

Bush Says Iraq Victory Is Vital - washingtonpost.com

Bush Says Iraq Victory Is Vital - washingtonpost.com

I'M SORRY MR PRESIDENT BUT I DISAGREE

Just where does he get the idea that the terrorists will follow us when we finally decide to leave Iraq? Since the beginning of the war in Iraq America has relied on faulty and misleading information cooked up by Bush's cronies in order to fuel his desire for revenge. Like the cowboy that he is, we went into Iraq with guns blazing in a hale of gunfire designed to 'Shock and Awe' whom? The Iraqis or the American audience glued to their TV sets?
Time and time again our war mongering president has painted a rosy picture of our supposed progress when in fact the exact opposite is true. It is like trying to put out an underground fire that seems to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. They rush out and put one fire out and another seems to pop up somewhere else. It is a neverending battle no one is ever going to win and we are better off letting it burn itself out than wasting valuable resources.
Remember that there are big companies making megabucks off this war. They don't want this to stop. Why? Because they stand to lose Billions when it ends. In the mean time our sons and daughters are getting killed fo no good reason.
Prior to 9/11 we were a Soft-Target (easy target if you will), now we are a Hard-Target. The Sleeping Tiger is awake and will protect its young( You and I) at any cost. We are no longer an easy target, that is why the enemy is hitting foreigh countries. The bad guys always prey on the weak and we are not weak by any shape of the imagination. Granted we are not perfect, far from it, but we are now more vigilant if not just a little paranoid when it comes to our safety.
This war in my opinion is another Viet Nam. A no-win situation once again run by the politians and micromanaged by a President who's only thing going for him is Fear. Sooner or later it has to stop. Sooner would be better, don't you think?

A Cleric Steeped in Ways of Power - New York Times

A Cleric Steeped in Ways of Power - New York Times

DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?

Our nation, the good old US of A is in the grips of religious extremists. Many of them have jumped on the bandwagon and are using Gays and Lesbians as a target of choice in order to incite the sheeple into action. In a sense it is a war that is going on here at home.
Do you see the similarity in the Arab nations? Their religious leaders have jumped on the bandwagon using hatred to stir up the sheeple in their own country and abroad. Because they don't live in a democracy they twist the rules to suit their own agendas. Unlike us and because they essentially don't have any rules of engagement, they have taken their hatred over seas to other countrys.
The probeem is as I see it is that the sheeple they are influencing are far less educated and farther in poverty than almost everyone else. They hate the fact that we have it so good and they don't. Like small children they have discovered that it is easier to break things than to build them up.
I don't know, but what I see here is not so much as hatred but jealousy. They hate that we have so much and they have so little. Now don't get me wrong, it is nice that we are trying to bring them into the 21st century and introduce them to democracy however, what we really need to do is give them an education and teach them to be self sufficient. If we teach them how to build things and maintain them, they will no longer hate us. Also we need to educate them about how their religious leaders are leading them down the road to disaster, not a better life here or in paradise.
My suggestion is to build schools and start to educate them. Then I think there will be change for the better. Ain't that the truth?

Good news everyone

You can now comment on my posts. I would like to know who reads them and how you feel about what I say. I do moderate them so keep it clean. Hopefully I will find someone with some influence reads what I have to say. Is that too much to ask? Mine is just a small voice in a very crowded place. Above all tell me if you enjoy it and perhaps you and I can make a difference in world politics.
Right now this is an experiment. I may add members. For right now anyone is welcome to comment. Lets see how it goes.

President Shifts Argument, Catches Critics Off Guard

President Shifts Argument, Catches Critics Off Guard

Only in his dreams.
Does he think we have Attention deficit syndrome? Not on your life is he taking me or anyone else "Off Guard" If he thinks that by 'forcefully' (pun intended) trying to steer us away from the rest of the problems of his administration, he is only dreaming. Perhaps he thinks that the anniversary of September 11 will stir up our patriotism once again and reinvigorate our animalistic appetite for war and all the blood and guts stuff it represents.
I got news for him, we're sick and tired of all the bloodshed and needless killing of our soldiers on an ill-conceived and badly executed war.
We seem to get all the little guys and proceed to make examples of them but how come we still haven't got Osama Bin Laden? He has been on the run for how long and we still don't know where he is? Give me a break. I'll tell you what I think. I think that we in fact do know where he is but for some unknown reason we purposely have not gone after him. I wonder why? Lots of Americans wonder why?
You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool them all of the time. Ain't that the truth?

First the Flood, Now the Fight

First the Flood, Now the Fight

KATRINA AND THE BLAME GAME CONTINUES, OR WHEN WILL IT EVER STOP?

A year has gone by and FEMA is still playing the blame game. Government incompetence reins supreme in this tragedy. People are still homeless and funds for rebuilding New Orleans seems to only to trickle in. Money to do the job is being siphoned off by unscrupulous and greedy contractors. Crime is still rampant and there is no end in sight. When will they ever get it if ever?
What we need to do is to reform the depression era work programs where the citizens came forward to clean up and rebuild. Damn the politicans, bottom feeding lawyers and greedy contractors and most of all damn the cost and lets get the job done. America has more than enough resources and heavy machinery to get the job done. What I'd like to see is companies coming forward and donating the machinery and manpower to clean up New Orleans once and for all. We have the resources to house workers from all over the country and feed them. We have the transportation to get them to the work areas to begin removing the debris so that we can start rebuilding a new city.
Lets stop playing politics and get off our butts and get to work. To hell with everything else.

Rep. Harris Condemns Separation of Church, State

Rep. Harris Condemns Separation of Church, State

Ah yes another reason we need to keep the religious wingnuts out of office. It is very obvious that Harris never studied American History or she probably didn't pay attention when the teacher explained how and why the Constitution was written and the reasons our founding fathers chose to keep Church and State separate. It is also obvious that she didn't learn that the reason people came to the new land we so proudly cherish was to escape religious persecution and tyrannical leaders. They did not want a theocracy, they wanted a democracy free from the tyrannical and theosophical rulers in Europe.
It is my sincere hope that we see through such religious fervor and unveil the real truth behind the Religious Right. Which by the way they are neither. It is at last admirable that the GOP has finally become conscious of the strangle hold these religious bigots have had on them. The American people should no longer tolerate this type of outrageous behavior and be sure to vote or at least make our outrage be heard at such despicable behavior.
Ain't that the truth?

Buyer Beware Norton System Works 2006 Premier

I have used Norton System Works previous versions for years but the current version really sucks. Beware if you install it along with GoBack your comnputer may not boot. That is what happened to me the first time around. Fortunately I was able to get to boot and uninstall GoBack. Nowhere except in microscopic text burried in the user manual does it warn about Not installing it on an Xp system.
Wait there's more. I wanted complete protection so I installed the complete package. That was the second mistake. It used to be that you could choose to turn off the monitoring feature and use the options only when you needed them. Not any more. It is turned on by default with no way to turn it off. Now I am used to a nice fast boot up. My Linux box boots up in about 20 seconds. With Norton installed you have to wait until it checks everything and I mean everything before you can open any programs. If you went to get a cup of java and came back maybe, just maybe it might be finished. Oh and did I mention that it is a system hog? The comoputer I use to cruise the internet is not the fastest in the world. This sucker maxes out my cpu and if I hit ctrl-alt-Del all other programs show that they are not responding until Norton stops doing its thing.
It gets better. I call for help in deleting Norton completely from my system. Help is Off-shore with some parson barely able to speak english to be intelligible. He says that not everything is taken out of the registry making it impossible to install the alternative Anti-virus software I just purchased.
To say that by this time I am very pi**ed off is an understatement. they call me back to see if their instructions worked. Of course I said no and proceeded to vent about what a lousy program the current version is. He HANGS UP ON ME.
The only alterenative I see is to Reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows XP Professional and all the programs I've collected and start over. I do know one thing, this is the last time Norton gets my business and I hope yours too.

Bush Says Iraq Pullout Would Be 'A Disaster'

Bush Says Iraq Pullout Would Be 'A Disaster'

But would it?

I watched Shrub's press conference on TV yesterday and his impassioned diatribe and adamant statement that we will not leave so long as he is president. The problem is he got us into this mess and now he can't get out of it. He and his cronies continuously paint a rosy picture of our supposed progress toward Democracy in Iraq. What he doesn't know or chooses to ignore is the real truth about what is happening there. Soldiers home from leave are telling those they know what is really happening and journalists I am sure are telling others what is happening. They may not be able to say it on air but I know for sure that the truth is being told.
The problem as I see it is not so much that we don't know what is really happening, but how in the world we can extricate ourselves form this hopeless situation and save face? We are damned if we do and we are damned if we don't. It is a catch 22 situation.
The only thing we can do is to continue to increase the pressure on those in government and those in power to persuade them that the American people are sick and tired of this scherade and there must be an end.
Ain't that the truth?

Pundits Renounce The President

Pundits Renounce The President

IS THE PRESIDENT AN IDIOT ?

Gollie Gee Whiz they are finally saying it. Look at my past bloggs. I've been sayiny it all along, not in so blunt of terms mind you but I have said it from the beginning.
He's a Cowboy, the villege idiot trying to put a front and our polititions fell for it hook line and sinker and now, how many years later finally comming to that realization? Incredible.
I said it once before and I'll say it again, the war in Iraq is wrong and we should not be there. The country is about to implode upon itself. Civil war will erupt and there is nothing we or any other country can do about it.
My suggestion is to pull out of there, let them fight amongst themselves and when the bloodshed is over reassess the situation and go from there.
In the mean time we need to get the Villege Idiot out of office as quickly as possible before he gets us into more trouble with the global community.
Ain't that the truth?

Nero Now its a waiting game

So far I'm back to using Nero6 and so far InCD is working even after downloading all the updates. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I also sent them a nasty letter outlining all the troubles I had with Nero7.
Ok more criticism. After cruising Nero's website I discovered a posting for a fix they blame on WindowsXP SP2 patch. My criticism is why did I have to hunt for it in the first place? Actually I found it quite by accident. Al right, why didn't they put it on the update page in the first place? That is where it should have been all along. Not in some obscure FAQ burried on some question and answer page.
Hey I'm a geek too. At least when I find an important flaw that effects a program I use all the time, I will put out a prominent notice about it and a work around or a fix if there is one. Thirty-one years as a service tech taught me that most people are not as tech savy as I am. Far from it. In fact most are barely able to use cumouters, let alone know what to do when they misbehave.
The moral? Redesign the site and put all the upgrades on the same page and it if there is a big problem put it up near the top in big type so we can see it. Believe me, you will have a lot more happy customers. Oh yeah, change that stupid pricing policy. I don't want to pay $70 up front and wait for a rebate a couple of days later. That is so yesterday.
Ain't that the truth?

Uh Oh Another Ripoff - Nero Tech Support

You're gonna love this. I had Nero6 and it worked fine, then out comes Nero7 Ultra so I figure that this is better. Wrong! upon installing the program and using it for a while I notice that the thing is buggy I mean that certain parts of it sudenly disappear or stop working or I get an error message that it has performed an illegal action and needs to terminate. I'm now getting frustrated so I click on the Change program option and then click on the repair option. No success. Then I notice that it didn't install InCD which was part of the older version of Nero. Again I go back tothe change option selection and it goes through a bunch of screens where I finally get to a screen where I can install this feature. That doesn't work. So I try it again. Frustrated I put in the tutorial CD and find out that you have to uncheck the Dutch language Box before you proceed to the next screen. I repeat the process and all goes well. I'm happy. By this time I'm ready for bed so I shut the machine down for the night.
The next morning I boot up the machine and the little Icon for InCD is missing form the system tray. I try using a CD RW disk but I can't copy files to it nor will it act as a giant floppy disk. Again I go through the process of reinstalling InCD to no avail. I'm getting mad at this point so I uninstall Nero7 or so I think.
Guess what Boys and girls, it leaves little bits of itself in the registry. The uninstall program DOES NOT take all of this garbage out of the system. Now you have to remember that I build and repair computers and provide IT support as a business. i just went for Linux+ certification. I think I know what I'm doing.
The next logical step it to call for Technical Help from Nero. They should be able to solve the problem. I call and the prerecorded message says that I must pay $1.29 per minute for tech support when the Tech person answers the phone. Total charge goes up to 59 minuts maximum. First call no helpm. They say they will email instructions to solve the problem. Sasid promised email never arrives so I call back thinking that they misspelled something and I spell it out likt they do in the Army Signal Corps. Still no email. I call back a third time with no luck. LTo top this all off I'm talking to someone who barely speaks english well enough for us to understand each other never mind solve any technical problems.
Here's the kicker, they charge the full amount to your phone bill when you call, not at the rate of $1.29 per minute. They charge instead $70.99 to your phone bill. You don't know how pissed off I am at this point. I call the regualr service desk and they explain that they charge the full amount first and then deduct the actual minuts within three or so days. THAT STINKS.
Needless to say I have come to the conclusion that I can no longer recommend Nero7 to anyone. In my opinion the program is badly written, buggy and jsut not worth it. I also think that the Tech Help charges are a gigantic RipOff.
Of coursse that is my humble opinion. Take it for what it is worth.

The Truth about rising Oil Prices

Oh do I have a news flash for you. Do you want to know exactly why the price of oil is skyrocketing? Well I've been cruising some of the other blogs and newsgroups and discovered some interesting things. Guess what? You were right all along, it is about greed and Oil all along. Remember Shrub comes from a family in Texas who have been in the oil business for years. Daddy was and so was Bush Junior. Where do you think their wealth comes from? You hit the nail right on the head. Oil.

The war in Iraq was contrived not so much to oust Saddam Husain and install Democracy in that country but to control the flow of oil. Not more of it but less of it. Thats right LESS Oil not more. The Real reason behind the Iraq was is control of the Oil Cartel and big money. Pure and simple it is Economics 101. If they produce more oil the price goes lower and they, Shrub and his ilk make less. Now by controling the flow of oil, they can charge more and more per barrel. The privce goes up and their fortunes increase accordingly. Its that simple.

Part of this information comes from confidential sources and also from a British newspaper called the Guardian. Another from an author by the name of Greg Palast and from his forthcoming book Armed Madhouse: /disoaches from the front lines of the class war, published by Penguin Dutton.

Is was about oil and it still is. Surprise Surprise

Frist's Southern Hospitality

Frist's Southern Hospitality

Your political pundit is at it again. This may get me into trouble. I just can't help it. My perverted cense of humor just kicked in. Just in case you are reading this Larry Flint, you have my permission to take it and run with it.

Southern Hospitality my Ass. Oh that hurt

A
n invitation was sent to a columnist that resembled a Cowboy's jeans. You had to unbuckle it and open the fly where you were presented with an invitation to atttend a 5th Annual VOLPAC weekend in Nashville. He didnn't say where this was to be held. Interestoing. Next when you turned the card over you see the rear end of the jeans with a Red Hankie in the pocket.

Here goes

Southern hospitality my aching ass. Y'all gonna get fu*ked all the to the bank. Red Hankie. Gollie he's gonna jam his fist up you-know-where till they squeel like pigs. Yee Hah, ride-em cowboy. Then he'll let 'em loose to roam the range (golf course) or relax in his studio while they recuperate. Let us not forget his wife the MD. Is there going to be a medical exam too?

Good golly, you are one sick puppy.

Bush Authorized Secrets' Release, Libby Testified

Bush Authorized Secrets' Release, Libby Testified

Another example of our corrupt President

Russ fingold was right, the President needs to be censured or maybe even impeached. Remember boys and girls, No One is Above the Law, not even the President. He is not a law unto himself nor does he have the power to make laws. He is there simply as spoksman for our country and to direct other parts of the government as needed. Nothing more. His actions are limited by the constitution. He is as it should be said, chairman of the board, not its dictator.

I am just a small voice among many, but it is one I hope is listened to. Must I remind you that this great country and its Constitution is by the people and for the people. That is what our country is all about. If WE don't like what is going on WE have a right to complain to our elected representatives locally and nationally and hopefully they will take the appropriate action. Failing that we have the right to take to the streets and protest or like myself post my feelings on a blog like this. Hopefully it will be read by someone influential enough and with the moxie to speak out in my or our behalf.

The problem is as I see it, our government and the representatives we elected are the most corrupt group we have ever had in a position of power. Slowly we are weeding them out and tossing them out. But unfortunately this is a generation that is motivated by greed. It is the "me first" generation. Sadly our government has been infiltrated by religious zealots trying to foist their perverted so-called moralistic views on the rest of us. Many of those views are foisted upon us by the hate mongering and money hungry TV evangelists like Pat Robertson and Lew Dobson and their ilk.

In short we have a president who lied to us about Iraq and weapons of mass destruction, and he has actively subverted the laws so that he could seek revenge. For this I say that we should seek some sort of punishment up to and including impeachment. I'm sick and tired of this corrupt bullshit. Aren't you?

Bloggers conference

Last weekend I attended the first Bloggers conference west of Waukesha. We had speakers on the subject of the law as it applies to blogging, or how not to get into trouble or sued. Several well known Bloggers shared their experiences and how they got into it. Next were a panel of Professors from some of the major colleges in Wisconsin relating their views on the subject and how it affects journalism in general. Theories on the future of blogging were also discussed. Next were some well known commentators and political pundits (elected officials if youy will) discussing their views on the effects bloggers have on the political scene. Finally the Bolgger of the Year was recognized although his identity had to be kept anonymous. I must say that it did peak our interest.
It was interesting to note that there were bloggers who were students, husbands, wives, and even professional journalists. Although this was targeted primarily to those who are interested in politics, there is every imaginable blog you can think of.
What else can I say but, Keep on Blogging.

Bush Still Upbeat on Outcome In Iraq

Does the president even know what is going on inIraq?

I really don't know wherew he is getting his information from, but some one is feeding him a whole lot of misinformation. I truly think that he is living in a dream world hoping that things will get better. Well I told you so several posts back that this country was going to implode upon itself and there would be Civil War. Guess what? It is coming true.
What bothers me the most is that we have thousands of people who were displaced by Katrina and many more who are homeless and what are we doing? Instrad of spending it on our own, we are wasting billions on a war we can not win. If you want my opinion, I think that we should gradually pull out of Iraq. Let them have their civil war. Watch from the sidelines and make sure they don't go off the deep end. That is about all we can do and not much else. Of course that is my personal opinion and nothing more.
Brought to you from America's heartland, one voice among many.

New Orleans Running Out of Options as It Scrambles for New Loans - New York Times

Absolutely Unbelievable

We had a National Catastrophe when hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the only thing these money grubbing idiots can think of is how much it will cost and how they are going to pay it back. Let me state that again, we had a National Catastrophe. One of America's cities was almost wiped off the map and the only thing they can think about is the cost? How stupid can they be? I personally find this attitude almost unbelievable. It is mind boggling to say the least.
What we should be doing is mobilizing our resources to rebuild this grand old city and help its residents rebuild their homes, not worry about the cost. This is a prime example of the incompetence of our current administration and its allies. Before Katrina hit we were warned repeatedly that the dikes could very likely fail. Did they do anything about it? Hell no. Some computer jockey at some bank probably decided that the cost was too high or that the risk wasn't high enough. Nothing was done and now you see the result. When the storm finally hit both state and government officials waited for the other to make the first step. One a bottom feeding lawyer heading FEMA was worried about the legal consequences if the government got involved too soon. The governor who had repeatedly asked for help fell on deaf ears. And it goes on and on ad-nauseum.
What we should do is take a lesson from the history books and look back during the second world war and copy what was done then to rebuild New Orleans. Kick the bankers out the door, close the books and get off our asses and get to work. If this is the only way we are looking at this tragedy we are in deep trouble. Damn the torpedoes and damn the cost. Lets get it done. That is what America is all about, helping each other. Aint that the truth?

Cheney's Response A Concern In GOP

This guy should Not have a Gun

Dick Cheney the Vice President showed the American people just how inept he is with a loaded weapon. While quail hunting he accidentally shot a 78 year old Texas Lawyer. What gets me boiling is that he is totally unapoplgetic. Folks this is the US VP, one of the most powerful people in this nation and he refuses to come out publicly about this tragedy.
As far as I am concerned, you are a Public official and as such you are accountalbe to the American people who elected you. You are Not above the law. No matter what you think. As stated in the article, you seem to be immune to public opinion. You seem to think that you are a law unto your self. Guess what? You are not. Although I expect that this will be another cover up by the current administration. You will ultimately be held accountable by the American people and the rest of the world.
We the People Demand that you come clean and explain your self and apologize. Any thing less is disingenuous.

In Unusual Request, TSA Seeks $10 Million to Address High Turnover

HIGH TURNOVER AQT THE TSA

Take it from someone who knows. I've worked in the area of Law Enforcement for about five years. Recently I aplied for a posititon as a screener for the TSA. It was a computerized test consisting of four parts. Some of it was questions and some you had to identify contriband. I can't tell you any more than that for security reasons. What bothers me immensly is that within an hour after leaving and returning home and checking my email, I was surprised to see an email saying that I didn't make it. No human being ever looked at the results. There were no questions nor did they ask for a resume of my work history. No questions whatso ever as to how well I performed as a security person up to that point.
The second point I want to make is that I found out from a source who works for the government was that the TSA can hire or fire a person for no reason at all. You can be fired for how you look or act or even for a simple mistake. Now I ask you, how is that going to look on your resume that you were fired from a government job. Not good at all.
The other thing is the working hours. The TSA can make you work whenever They want without regard for the employee. or his or her desires. I don't even want to go into management. All I can say is it is not good. That is why, boys and girls there is a very large turnover. The jerks in government and the jerks in management just don't get it.
You have to treat your employees decently. You need to treat them with the respect they deserve. It takes a certain type of personality that no computer in the world can ferrit out. Personally if you had more Human interaction in the hiring process the TSA will find the type of person they are looking for. You can bank on that.
I'll tell you why there is high turn over. Stress both from superiors and stress from unreasonable passengers. Try as you might, you can't be nice to everyone and there will always be someone who is offendee. It goes with the territory. The sooner management learns that and backs us up the better we can do our jobs. Believe me, the customer is NOT always right. Ain' t that the truth?

About Sexual Preditors on Line

Last night I watched a program about sexual preditors. I found it absolutley amazing the number of preditors who came to the house supposedly to meet under age children to have sex with them. They were videotaped and confronted with their on line instant messages. When they left the house they were then arrested by the Sheriffs Department. Even they were amazed at the number of arrests they made. This was in California. Now what I wonder is just how many will be caught here in the midwest? Now I don't live in Chicago, but just to the north in Milwaukee.
I really hope some of our law enforcement officials will read this and set up a sting operation similar to that out west just to see how many of these scumbags we can get off the street. This is scary as hell and I hope parents become aware of it and monitor their children's activities over the internet.
First of all Don't let them use a computer in their own rooms unsupervised. Put the computer in the front room or the kitchen where a parent can see what they are doing. Also remember that kids will be sneaky and blank the screen when they think a parent is looking over their shoulder. Just remember that you need to be just as sneaky in order to be sure they are doing the right thing.
A lot of adults are not computer savy. For those who are, it is a good idea to create a separate account for their children. Limit access and also do not allow them to install computer programs without your permission or supervision. If you don't know how to do these things, hire a computer professional to set up your computer, create passwords etc. to protect your children. Be sure to write down the passwords and then lock them away for safe keeping. Believe me if your kids ever find them you will be back to square one all over again.
Remember it is not safe out there. Your kids may be at risk. It is our duty to protect them.
Ain't that the truth?

White House Declines to Provide Storm Papers - New York Times

Incompetence is showing its ugly face once again

They fumbled the ball the first time around when Katrina hit and now they are fumbling it again be denying the release of crucial papers concerning White House communicationsin the aftermath of the storm. Now why do you suppose that is? I'll tell you what I think andit ain't good. The real truth is that they want to cover up all the goof ups they made. Folks the people you voted for don't have a clue as to what to do and the bottom feeding lawyers are telling them to keep quiet for fear that thay will incriminate themselves.
Seems to me that when you know the answer or have a pretty good feeling that you know it already, when the White House takes the third and refuses to answer, to me it is the same as they are admitting that they are guilty. Don't you think?
Besides who in the world is going to read 250,000 and 300,00 page reports? Might be good for toilet paper out in the outhouse but that is about it. Its amazing how something like this can generate over half a milliion pages of gobbedy-gook that almost no one will ever read and not one bit of help for the victims of this catastrophy.
And how about all this bullshit the president touted over the tv about spending all those hundreds of thousands (or is it millions or billions)to rebuild New Orleans? Funny how the news media has been real quiet about that. They show all the devastation but none of the rebuilding that is suppose to be going on. Truth is, it ain't. Now the tightwad greedy sob's won't pay for or help the victims get out of the financial mess they are in.
I'm telling you that there is a cover up, big time. It is about time we get to work and get to the bottom of this and make heads roll if that is what it takes.
The truth is out there. You can bet on it.

Feds take porn fight to Google | Tech News on ZDNet

And the Witch hunt begins

Although I am against Child pornography, I think that once again President Bush is overstepping his authority. Our Constitution specifically states that there must be a specific need for specific records and the courts must issue a search warrent in order to obatin those private records. The need must be specific, not a Witch hunt. We the people have the right to unreasonable search and seasures of our private records. This action by the president is against the law and also unconstitutional.

It is my opinion that if the president continues to overstep his authority that congress sanctions him. Failing that then I think it is time for the American people to step forward and start impeachment proceedings for this gross misconduct.

Alito Leaves Door Open to Reversing 'Roe'

Liar Liar Pants on fire

If you read the hearing summary, it comes to light that Alito had belonged to the Concerned Alumni of Princeton which had quite a notariety on social issues at that time. Alito it was noted touted his membership in this organization.

Then he goes on to say that he doesn't remember ever being a member. How convienment. Someone thqt well educated and especially a lawyer or law student does not forget such things.

Remember folks, in order to be a good lawyer you have to have an exceptional memory. In my opinion this is not a memory loss. It is an outright lie on his part. Republican right wing demagogary and accusations that he is somehow being picked on just don't jive. How tipical that the accuser becomes the accused when they can't get their way. A common tactic of right wing zealots. Shame on you.

Alito's refusal to adequately answer questions leaves me wondering if he could possibly be persuaded to overturn Roe V. Wade?
Is this the kind of perosn we want in the Supreme Court? Not is I can help it.

First post of the New Year. Hah another year gone and another year older. Bah Humbug I hate the idea of it. Such is life.
Out, out damn hair from my keyboard.

Anyway here goes.
Big Brother is snooping in your computer and its emails. Why am I not surprised? What does surprise me is the time it took the news papers to find out about it. It took some whistleblower government worker to act as Deep Throat to some reporter to get it out to the public.

Your President, the one You voted for my Republican friends, secretly under the guise of Law gave the NSA Cart Blanche to them to go ahead in the name of National Security and the Patriot (whatever that means) Act. It wasn't the Patriots who enacted it but a bunch of paranoid right wing zealots intent upon userping our constitutional rights in the name of terrorism and national security anainst some unknown or imagined enemy.

Now I know the President has the power to enact executive orders in times of emergency supposedly after some other nation has attacked us, thus declaring war. Now to my recollection the bombing, if you want to call it that, of the Twin Towers in New York was the work of a group of men lead by a fanatic (maybe more than one) named Osama Bin Laden. A very unstable religiously fanatic son of a wealthy Iraqi Oil sheik obsessed with the American bourgeois capitalistic lifestyle. Not some nation intent on world domination or our utter destruction.

No nation since 2003 has ever declared war on us. No nation has ever attacked us. We on the other hand attacked Saddam Hussein in Iraq in retribution for the above mentioned attack. Although bloodshursty and a despotic leader, we made him the scapegoat, attacked Iraq and captured him and now have him on trial. Our actions have destabilized a whole region and now we must do our best to correct it. Like it or not.

My problem is this. Did the President overstep his authority authorizing the secret surveillance of American citizens without our knowledge or permission in the name of national security and the Patriot Act?

Considering all the corruption within the GOP and elsewhere, I really wonder. What really gets me is that now he is pissed that the American public has found out. Good golly what is this country coming to? I really hope that this creates a backlash from the public and a tongue lashing by congress.

Come on Mr President, you can't possibly think for one minute that the enemy doesn't think that we have not been monitoring their goings on. Of course they do. What has me pissed off about this is the fact that the NSA and other agencies are going on a Fishing expedition prying into its oun citizens communications. I don't think I'd mind so much if you had said that certain suspicious communications may be investigated. That I can handle. But going behind our backs. Now that is another matter.

Wadda you think?
