A suggestion for security in Iraq

So now we know that various Iraqis work in the US compounds where our military is stationed. We know that they wrap explosives around their bodies and once inside detonate them killing military personnel and others. Here is my suggestion on how to solve the situation easily.
Take the hint from the Diamond Mines in Africa. When a worker comes on duty he is required to change his clothing and put on another one supplied by the company. This requires them to strip down to their underwear thereby exposing any countermand they may be hiding on their bodies. In the case of Iraq, any explosives that may be strapped on to their bodies or anything else they may be hiding on their person.
Another possibility is the use of full body x-rays to reveal other contraband hidden inside the body. This may be costly but would eliminate all possible dangers.

Second Suggestion

Why not use civilian War Gamers to help plan strategy to fight the war in Iraq? I am sure that there are many very willing and knowledgeable people here in the USA who would jump at the chance to help. I'm not talking about computer gamers but the board gamers and the like out there who play war games and pit their knowledge of past wars against each other with miniature armies on mock ups of the terrain of actual battles. I really hope that you are taking this into consideration as this may be a source of strategy untapped by the armed forces strategists.

No Shit Sherlock

On December 6th a classified cable from the Central Intelligence Agency indicated that the situation in Iraq was deteriorating. How insightful. And just how long did it take you guys to figure that one out? A year? Now this is a prime example of the incompetence of Shrubs leadership. Not only is he incompetent, so are those in his administration under him.
I said it once a long time ago, and I'll say it again. The War in Iraq is like the war in Afghanistan. The former Soviet Union discovered that fact and got out while the getting was good and cut their losses, now it is our turn to high tail it and cut our losses too. Don't count on it though. Our pig headed Dumbo of a president hasn't gotten the message yet. Will he ever?
Mr President we are fighting a war whose borders are impossible to close, where insurgents are crossing the border supplying guns and munitions to the those fighting against us. It is like bailing out a sinking ship with a pail full of holes. It is a losing battle and the sooner we realize that the better. There are some battles that are unwinable. Obviously he never saw the movie War Games with Mathew Broadrick.

How about a nice game of chess?

Its about time

I love it, I just love it. I just found an article in todays Washington Post about Advocacy groups using the media to get their views across. What a wonderful idea! Bravo. They are using newspapers and radio and tv to get their points across.
In order to read the link here Washington Post Advocacy Groups
You may have to sign onto the Posts website. Don't worry its free.
What some groups are doing is buying newspapers to use to get their point across. The catch is that they are not showing just who owns the paper. Just as NBC doesn't advertise that General Electric is its owner or that Disney owns ABC.
Other groups are producing TV dramas to get their point across to the general public. Personally I think that this is good because national syndicated media will not allow these points of view to be broadcast or printed. It is my strong feeling that we need to know the real truth and if this is the way we can get it out, all the better. I wish all the organizations the best of luck in their indevors.

Ain't that the truth?

The election is over. Now What?

OK where do we go from here? Bush got reelected and is on a roll. Personally I think we need to keep very close watch on him to make sure he doesn't go overboard. I think that we should watch his advisers as they are the ones pulling the strings, not Bush. Do the decisions ultimately come down from him or someone else, that is the question? I really don't think that the decisions are totally his.
We now have the Republicans and the Radical Right with a firm hold on government policy making. They want as much control as they can get and they will do it any way they can. So far they are doing just that. As an independent and more or less a centrist I tend to take the middle view. I tend to be one who takes the Devil's Advocate point of view a lot of times in order to get or force people to think about the issues at hand, I think it is imperative that we keep careful watch on what is happening. Those of us who tend to be more on the moderate side (if that is the right term) need to act as a brake in order to slow the process down in order to analyze the situation so that we do the right thing. By that I mean not going overboard with our zealousness and overreaction to current situations.
For those leaning to the left, you need to groom a leader who is more decisive and firm on the issues. It think that is one of the reasons Kerry lost. I also think someone with a less controversial past would be good too. By that I mean someone who's past actions don't contradict the issues now. He wavered way too much and relied too much on other opinions right up the last second before he would make a concrete decision. Only once did I see Bush waver and that was on the Gay issue of marriage. Other wise he stuck to his guns.
At least that is the way I see it.

My theory about Arafat

Don't you think it is a little unusual that the illness that Yassar Arafat has been kept secret from the public? It does me. This is my theory. MY THEORY IS THAT HE WAS ASSASSINATED.
The mysterious illness was probably caused by some sophisticated pathogen that would never be detected once administered. All it takes is a small pin prick to administer a fatal dose of a poison that can kill a person and then be metabolized and become undetectable.

Who did it we may never know. Was it one of his own or someone from another nation? Its useless to point fingers. The deed is done and he is gone. We do know that there has been constant fighting between Palestine and Israel and it seems that there is no end in sight. If Arafat remained in power I doubt if peace would come at any time. If he was assassinated it could pave the way for negotiations between the two and eventually lead to peace or at least an equitable settlement. Lets all hope that is the outcome.

So what is the truth? Will we ever know?

Whacko Scientists

Ok so they found a Midget or Dwarf skeleton which is thousands of years old. They are calling it a major find. What are they thinking? They are saying that they are smart just because of their brain size? Don't dwarfs heads seem much bigger than their bodies? Like Duh? These guys are supposed to have impressive College Degrees for pete sake. Give me a break. You mean to tell me that there weren't any dwarfs back in the stone age? Come on Guys, this isn't Rocket Science. I think someone is having a Major Brain Fart or they are way off track. I went to College too, but at least I use the gray matter God gave me. I think someone is pulling our leg.

This is a Joke right? Personally I think someone should start questioning this supposed find. You just found the first midget. Get over it. Big Deal. Here is the link if you want to read the article for yourself.

Will the President meet the same fate as Kennedy?

Now its just speculation, but if President Bush keeps going in the same direction he has, my bet is that he may just face the same fate as Kennedy. It is a grim possibility that he must take into consideration if he wants to serve for four more years.

The question is where will it come from? I predict it may come from the extreme right or left who believe that Armageddon is upon us and that the Bush has emerged as the Beast of Revelations. That this is the beginning of the End Times. Or perhaps someone else is pulling the strings, not Bush but someone more sinister from inside.

Sounds pretty scary and far out doesn't it? The question is, can we be sure about that? Only time will tell.

Let 'em gloat. Its Gorilla warfare time

The right wing republicans are gloating. "We won, we won." The narrow minded religious extremists are feverishly planning their next attack on American freedom. Right wing news commentators are gloating over their victory at the polls while the rest of America walks away with their tails between their legs, or at least it seems that way.

The truth is that more Americans went to the polls than any time in recent history. They only won by three percentage points. Three percentage points. That tells me something and it should tell you something too. Regardless of the outcome of the election, the American people are fed up with the right wingers. We lost the election but we have not lost the fight. We must keep on fighting even harder than before if we want to keep what we have. We cannot stop.

We did get the word out and the American public is listening. Why do you think the election was so close. I for one will not listen to the doom sayers who claim that all is lost. It is not. We didn't win but we didn't lose either. The tactic now is to throw cold water on their plans and stop them in their tracks before even more damage is done. We need to challenge them at every turn and make them work for what they want. We have now got to make it very difficult for them to succeed. Its time for Gorilla warfare. Lets take it to the streets. Shout from the rooftops. Expose them for who they are. Dig up every piece of mud we can and fling it back in their faces. Its our time to take off the gloves and slug it out.

Down but not out by any means

Bush has got to go

Its almost as if I told you so. The cost of the war in Iraq is going to bankrupt the country. And who should come out from hiding but Osama Bin Laden voicing his opposition to the Bush administration. "So we are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy. Allah willing, and nothing is too great for Allah."

This has been and continues to be an unnecessary war, a war no one wanted except the blood thirsty Bush administration and the extremeist religious right. I was my opinion then as it still is now that our nation is going down the toilet under this administration.

With that I say "Vote as if your life depends upon it." Bush MUST be voted out of office. It is my sincere hope that John Kerry will do the right thing and get out of this mess before it is too late. If you don't believe me, read the complete speech by Bin Laden for yourself here http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/79C6AF22-98FB-4A1C-B21F-2BC36E87F61F.htm

I told you so. Ain't that the truth?

The message from Osama Bin Laden

First I read the American newspaper interpretation of Bin Laden's message broadcast by Al Jazeera and the response by our presidential candidates. In typical response they said that we will hunt Bin Laden down and capture or kill him and that we will continue the war on terrorism for as long as it takes.

Now you and I know that we accomplished our task a long time ago by capturing Saddam Hussein and brought him to justice. Instead of leaving the country we have overstayed our welcome and now are trying to force our brand of democracy on a people who essentially don't want it. Their definitions of freedom and our definition of freedom are two different things. I really think that they resent having us shoving our form of democracy down their throats when they are not ready for it. They want to rule themselves the way they always have, simply put.

I would not be surprised that Osama saw Fahrenheit 9/11 too. Does that surprise you? It doesn't me. How do I know this? Well I did a search on the internet and read the speech on the International version of Al Jazeera newspaper. "Bin Ladin accused Bush of complacency during the September 11 attacks in 2001, mocking him for going on with a visit to a school."
Said Bin Laden "It never occurred to us that the commander in chief of the American forces [Bush] would leave 50,000 citizens in the two towers to face those horrors alone at a time when they most needed him because he thought listening to a child discussing her goat and its ramming was more important than the planes and their ramming of the skyscrapers."
"I am surprised by you. Despite entering the fourth year after September 11, Bush is still deceiving you and hiding the truth from you and therefore the reasons are still there to repeat what happened." All this taken directly from the speech by Osama Bin Laden which is printed in the Al Jazeera newspaper.
He blames American injustice on our actions "the injustice and tyranny of the American-Israeli alliance against our people in Palestine and Lebanon." An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
In the end he says "Your security is not in the hands of [Democratic presidential candidate John] Kerry or Bush or al-Qaida. Your security is in your own hands and each state which does not harm our security will remain safe."
Tit for tat, if you harm our security (terrorists) we won't harm yours. Sounds like Checkmate where neither wins.
How about a nice game of Chess?

The X-Factor

Guess what? The republicans are scared shitless. The reason is the X-factor, all those first-time voters, the youth who are just now coming of age to vote. Never before in the history of the United States has there been such an unprecedented rush to register new voters. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel http://www.jsonline.com posted an article about the stupendous turnout in Madison, Wisconsin for a Kerry/Bruce Springsteen political rally. Now I'm not saying some came to hear the 'Boss' but this is unusual. 80,000 people is a LOT of people to come to a rally. Look at the photo (enlarge it) and notice that there are people as far as the eye can see. This my friends is the X-factor that the Republicans are scared of. A factor the polls can't count and have no idea how they will vote. Might I point out that the polls only count the "known" voters. I personally work at a college in the City of Milwaukee and I think that the majority are in favor of Kerry. Most of them are sick and tired of the war and the fear-mongering of the Bush administration. They have been very active in a get out the vote drive and I am sure that they will cast their vote November 2nd for their favorite candidate. They call Wisconsin a Swing State and I think it will set the stage for the rest of the nation. This I'm sure is going to be an interesting election if not a contested one if the vote is close. My prediction is that it will not be. I predict it will be a landslide. My vote is for Kerry.

What makes a Leader?

Does the voting record of a candidate make a good leader? How about Vietnam? First of all I want to know why Kerry didn't vote before I make a decision. If he didn't vote, why not? Was he busy with something else? Was he apathetic? Or did he just plain forget? Only he can answer those questions. We on the other hand can only speculate. And what if our speculations are wrong, what then?
I question the swift boat veterans. Who's lying and who is telling the truth? Who was actually there and saw what really happened? Or is this another underhanded tactic cooked up by Karl Rove? Makes me wonder how he got the nickname 'Turdblossom?' Personally I think that this is another tactic to obfuscate the facts. Many of their credentials are questionable at best and many have already been discredited.
Remember there are a lot of lies and half-truths and downright dirty tricks being used during this election. You have to look at both sides of the equation, separate the wheat from the shaf, the lies from the truth, then and only then can you make an informed decision. Also don't let your emotions get the better of you for surely as I write this it will be a wrong one.
Bush and the administration are being manipulated by the likes of Karl Rove and the extremists (Ralph Reed comes to mind as a major player also). I think that Bush is basically a good person who believes what he is doing is right. He just isn't smart enough to realize that he is being manipulated, either that or he is in so deep he has no way out.
Kerry is far more intelligent than Bush and is very well aware of the underhanded machinations of the extremists and Rove. Neither is perfect, but I prefer Kerry to Bush any day.

The truth will set you free.
Do a search of Karl Rove aka Turdblossom. Also Ralph Reed. You may be surprised at what you find.

Oil prices. Why is it so high?

I know about the war in Iraq and all that, but how is the outrageous price of oil tied to the war? Where exactly is it coming from? Is this war about Oil? Is it about Big Business? I wonder.

Surprisingly when you look at where all the worlds supply of crude oil comes from, it all or at least most of it comes from the Middle East. Saudi Arabia, Libya, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait with very little of it coming from elsewhere. Does this surprise you, it doesn't me.

Sure the war is about Osama, Al Qaida and the insurgents, but it is also about Oil and Big Business and our reliability on this vital resource. No one will admit it but this war in Iraq is about our access to the oil supplies in the middle east. That's why Bush wants to win the election so that we can institute some sort of democratic government, one way or another. That is the real hidden agenda behind this election.

The problem is that we rely way too much on Oil in this country. I think it is about time we looked to alternative fuels. It has to be done now or shortly after the election when all the hoopla dies down and the nation gets back to business at hand.

The largest resource of energy is all around us and that is water. Yes good old H2O If we could find a way to separate Oxygen and Hydrogen cheaply, we could have an almost unlimited supply of renewable fuel. You see Hydrogen when burned combines with oxygen to form water. No dangerous by products. It can be used again and again ad infinitum. The ultimate renewable energy source. Similar to the movie "Chain Reaction" starring Morgan Freeman and Keanu Reeves where they discovered a process to cheaply produce hydrogen as a source of fuel. That was science fiction, but I think that if we worked hard enough we can find a way to do it.

What a concept. Ain't that the truth?

The Lesser of Two Evils

Last night while out patrolling the college I listened to Michael Savage on the radio talking about Bush and Kerry and the Muslims. He talks about Bush screwing up the war in Iraq and his not so elegant persona during the debates and how he didn't come across very well to the public at large. He went on to criticize Kerry as far too liberal and in his opinion how the world would wined up if he were elected. To me it sounded to me like typical doomsday rantings. We're damned if we do and we're damned if we don't.

He went on to discuss his theory that the Muslims are taking over the world and that the European nations will soon be taken over by them. About this I disagree. Granted that Islam and the Muslim religion are making inroads across the world much the same way Christianity did in the middle ages to the present time. Its like he is saying that my religion is better than your religion. I believe that is a very dangerous way to think. It is precisely this way of thinking that has lead to all the current wars and bloodshed in recent history (ancient history too).

It boils down to several questions. Will the United States be better off with Bush or Kerry and will this lead ultimately to the end of the world as we know it. In my opinion this is great fodder for the conspiracy theorists and doomsday advocates. "Oh dear the sky is falling, the sky is falling." The end of the world is at hand. GIVE ME A BREAK. The world didn't end New Year 2000 or 2001 and we are still here three years later. We haven't blown ourselves up nor has an asteroid hit the earth. Boys and girls, the end times haven't happened and I don't think it will happen in our lifetime.

As long as people continue to say that my religion is better than yours we will continue to have wars and bloodshed for the foreseeable future. Doomsday theorists will thrive because of the plethora of information at our fingertips thanks to the internet and instantaneous news broadcasts bombarding us at all hours of the day and night. Face it, there is no end in sight.

With the coming election we must choose a lesser of two evils. Remember Bush has done a very good job of mucking up the war in Iraq, isolating the USA from the rest of the world and making a lot of them hate us. He is pandering to the rich and large corporations and in bed with he religious right. Medical costs have skyrocketed and jobs have been lost. He has rewarded companies for shipping jobs off-shore. To top it off we have lost many of our cherished Constitutional rights and he wants to codify discrimination. I ask you is this a president you want in the White House for four more years?

Kerry on the other hand is a different story. A rather radical shift in the opposite direction. Something that is hard for many of us to swallow. He is diametrically opposed to the policies of the Bush administration and how to fix a weak and broken system. His ideas on handling the war in Iraq are a departure from the ideology and rhetoric the Bush administration is trying to shove down our throats. Bush uses fear while Kerry pushes for a new hope for our nation and the world.

The choice to me is clear. While Bush operates on fear and War, war, war. Kerry offers an olive branch of hope for the American people and the world. For me this is the lesser of two evils.

Ain't that the truth?
Update on the last rant

This notice of a public hearing is sponsored by a group pf community organizations trying to improve the neighborhoods in the city of Milwaukee. For this I commend them. I had a nice talk with one of the people in the organization on their goals.

I under stand their goals, however I still think that the city has their priorities backwards. Not only do we need the housing stock stabalized but we also need to work to drastically reduce the crime that is driving people away.

Do I still intend to move my investments elsewhere? You bet. I really don't want to buck heads with public officials who just don't care or think it is 'too much like work' to do anything.

Thats the end of that rant, and now back to the political stuff.

Another Rant about Milwaukee

I own a property in the City of Milwaukee in the "Hood" or at least very close to it. The area I'm talking about is bounded by 27th street to the east, North Avenue to the north, Lisbon Ave to the south and 43rd St to the west. The worst area is the area south of North avenue west of 35th St. Lisbon to the south and 43rd to the west. At least at one time it wasn't all that bad but over the years the neighborhood has deteriorated and become a cesspool of violence, drugs and gangs. The only people we can rent to have been really bad people. Last August I had to evict both upper and lower tenants for non payment of rent, a common occurrence in this part of town. The upper flat needed updating. The lower flat having been occupied by a girl who unbeknownst to me when she rented (perhaps because she was taking her medication) had severe mental problems. An unwed uneducated single parent, she got pregnant, went off her medication and spiraled downward causing damage to the apartment and finally eviction.

For the past months I have completely gutted the upper apartment kitchen and bathrooms and upgraded them, repainted and added new carpeting. I did the same to the lower apartment.

Now here's the kicker. Shortly after finishing this work to the tune of about $20,000 vandals broke down the new doors and busted many of the downstairs windows and stole some of the contractors tools. A claim was made to the insurance company which settled for little over $5,000. (they cancelled my policy by the way, something that upsets me also, but that is another rant) Most of the damage has been repaired and new tenants are scheduled to occupy the newly rehabed apartments November 1st.

I have been robbed at gunpoint within feet of the front door to the property. They were caught only because I was in uniform at the time. You see I am a licensed security officer for a major college in the city of Milwaukee. For that I am thankful. It just goes to show, you don't mess with a law enforcement officer and get away with it. Would anyone else have been as lucky? I doubt it.

What I really don't understand is why the City of Milwaukee has repeatedly ignored pleas to crack down on violence in this area but instead focus its efforts on honest landlords in order to preserve a so-called pristine look to its neighborhoods. It is like a nice shiny box filled with garbage festering just beneath the surface.

Now they want to conduct a witch hunt by calling a Public hearing on the housing in the area. They are more concerned about what it looks like than the shootings, gangs, drugs and violence festering in the neighborhood. Don't you think they have their priorities a little mixed up?

People come here and say "Oh what a pretty city" while underneath is a cesspool of festering violence, drugs, gang activity and shootings unabated and totally ignored by our city officials. What really pisses me off is that they don't care. No matter what we say it is like talking to a brick wall.

Because of this I am in the process of liquidating my properties within this city and will be moving on outside of this cesspool they call a 'Great place by a great lake. I THINK NOT This is the most anti-landlord city I have ever lived in. I'm not a native of this state. I SAY GO AFTER THE CRIMINALS, NOT THE LANDLORDS YOU DUMBBELLS.

By the way this so called public hearing will get full coverage right here. So stay tuned for more hard hitting reporting. The witch hunt continues.

Ain't that the truth?

Something I don't quite understand

Vice President Cheney stated after John Kerry made reference to his daughter, who is a lesbian whether homosexuality was a choice. Kerry said that "she would tell you that she's being who she was, she's being who she was born as"

Personally I don't see anything wrong with that remark unless you are in deep denial about the sexuality of a family member, in which case it would be construed as a slap in the face. Truth hurts, Mr. Cheney whether you like it or not.

Come on people, Cheney and his wife have been in deep denial about their daughter up until recently. They still don't want to face that fact. He is a republican who has denied or refused to recognize their daughter's different sexuality. By that I mean their refusal to recognize one of their own is Gay.

I got news for you Mr and Mrs Cheney, God doesn't make mistakes. Your daughter was no mistake. Its not a choice. She was put here for a purpose and that purpose is to teach both of you and others that not all of us are what you want us to be. I'm very sorry that your world has come crashing down around you, but you must face the music. Stop being so pig-headed. There is no other way.

Don't you think it is about time you both stood up regardless of the consequences and defend your daughter? Believe me, it will be the best thing you can ever do. Embrace her, love her for who she is and defend her. Be proud and stand up for what is right. Do the right thing. Is that so hard?

Its really sad when those who we expect to get support from, our family and church, are the ones who don't.

Ain't that the truth?

What I like about Kerry

He has been accused of flip-flopping and being indecisive on the issues. I disagree. Kerry is like me, he likes to get as much information as possible before he makes a final decision. Many times he changes his view as he gathers more and more information. Its called making an informed decision. He likes as many sources of information as possible to sift through. Once that is done he makes his decision. There are times however when having made a decision, new information comes to light and upon reevaluation he must change his views.

Bush on the other hand relies on a small contingent of advisors to sift through the information at hand and then advise him of their conclusions. By limiting his information sources and or quantity if sources, he has make some disastrous choices.

Bush's style of management, much like a CEO of a big corporation (he was a business major in college) rules with an iron fist. If I must say, I think, an autocratic style. Its my way or the highway. I may be wrong but I don't see Bush as a People Person. Bush has been continually insulated from the press and public and only the best bytes are put forward to the publics eye. I don't know about you but I want to know more than the glossy image. I want to know the real Bush. What I have seen I don't like.

Having been born and raised in Massachusetts and intimately familiar with New England Blue Blood, I understand the perception of Kerry as being aloof and somewhat distant. People must understand that he probably came from a family where showing affection (hugging kissing and other forms of intimacy) were not part of growing up. For the rest of us who like to show affection, this can be somewhat unsettling and we may get the wrong impression. I do think that Kerry cares, he just doesn't show it. He is however a 'people Person' and works well with others.

I'll be posting more on the last debate shortly. Work comes first. Such is life.

Why they won't let him speak spontaneously

Bush won't talk spontaneously to reporters. Now why is that? Well I'll tell you. He ain't no good at public speaking. He ain't smart enough. He don't got that sharp wit about him. Dats what. Anna hay? You betcha dupa, as they say up here in God's country.

You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool them all of the time. Truth is the media has been sheltering Bush and only allowing carefully scripted media to reach the public. Until now that is. I think a lot of people have been hoodwinked into thinking that he is smarter than he really is. Sheeple wake up! The Truth is staring you in the face and you can't see it. Shame on you.

Even I can tell that he isn't the one running the show. He is a puppet. Someone is yanking the strings in the background. Cheney and his cohorts are the ones really running the country, not Bush. He is just the mouth piece, that's all.

Watch the debate tonight and you will see for yourself. The real Bush without the shiny leaves will be uncovered for what he really is. No one in their right mind would want any one like that reelected.

Ain't that the truth?

Liquor and Bush

I had two uncles who were both in the service and both were alcoholics. I don't believe they made any effort to go to AA and if they did it was sporadic at best. One got stupid and the other got mean and ugly when they got drunk. The stupid one also had a mean streak. I was at their houses when they were drunk and it wasn't a pretty sight. It was a downright scary sight for me as a little kid. Now you do know Bush Jr. has an alcohol problem? It is public knowledge. He says he doesn't drink. For that I applaud him...However....

Well guess what? Many alcoholics share the same personality traits. One common trait is when they swear off alcohol and enter a 12 step program they tend to become 'born again.' The problem is they tend to substitute one excess with another, in this case Christianity and religious extremism. Now it seems to me that good 'ole Bush baby has jumped on the bandwagon along with the religious fanatics. When he first became president he was ambivalent about what gays and lesbians do. Now he wants to change the constitution to codify discrimination against them. One extreme to the other.

Many alcoholics are downright mean when they are drunk and even when they are sober that mean streak tends to show through. A part of their subconscious personality. It does not go away, it just lurks below the surface waiting for the right situation to manifest itself in subtle ways.

Regardless of the authenticity of the national Guard documents, the question remains as ever about the presidents status during that missing time frame. Sources say he was a lousy pilot and had trouble landing his plane. That and a alcohol problem was the reason he cut short his stay I'm sure with daddies blessing.

Considering my experience with my alcoholic uncles, I for one don't want someone like that as the president. It was scary when I was a kid and it scares me more now as an adult. I hope it does you too. He went off half-cocked sober. I'd hate to think what would hapen if he hit the bottle. It's way too risky at this point in time. Don't you think?

Ain't that the truth?

Not enough interpreters

It really doesn't make much sense to me why the military has discharged some of the best and the brightest people simply because of their sexual orientation. Many of the best and most qualified people who were interpreters were LGBT people. Yet they are using 'Don't ask, Don't tell' as a witch hunt to rout them out when they are in dire need of qualified help. It just doesn't make sense. Just like in the civil war Blacks were not allowed to fight and again during the first world war. It wasn't until an all black battalion showed them that they could fight as well or better than the rest of the troops.
My suggestion is why not set up a LGBT unit to fight or interpret Arabic. Perhaps they can prove that they can perform as well or better than their counterparts. I'll bet that if they set up a gay unit that they will outperform the rest of them. Its worth a try. Perhaps then they will change Don't ask, don't tell or abolish it entirely. Wouldn't that be something?

Where the hell is Bin Laden?

Mr President you're spending billions in Iraq, but we still don't know where Osama Bin Laden is. How about all the other terrorists who are recruiting mercenaries to fight? What about them?

Well.............?

Dead silence.

Or............Lets change the subject. Shall we?

The big question is why hasn't Bush done anything to get to the CAUSE OF ALL THE TROUBLE? Seems to me has treating the symptoms and not the cause.

I think it is about time for a change, don't you think?
Lets burn the Bush in November.

What dream world is the president living in?

I couldn't help but wonder as I watched president Bush talk to the UN and in private conversation with the Iraq's prime minister on TV the other day, what cloud he was living on? Or should I say fantasy world. How in the world can he expect the American people and people in other countries to believe his story that we are winning the war and that democracy is right around the corner? He has the gall to say that the CIA is only guessing in its assumptions on Iraq. As though that is supposed to make myself and others more confident in his leadership. It sounds like the blind leading the blind. The stakes are too high Mr. President to be doing a guessing game and I suspect you have doing a lot of that on Iraq right from the beginning.

I don't know about you but my eyes are wide open and I can see what is happening over there. Thanks to instantaneous transmission of news over the television newscasters inside Iraq. What I see is not a pretty picture. I see tanks not soldiers in the streets and continuous fighting. Even I can put two and two together and come to the conclusion that we are not winning this war but are being pushed back farther and farther into our bunkers than when we started.

Somehow the notion that they will have some kind of democratic election (that's a laugh) in the near future is simply a pipe dream at best. Any election will be only a show put on for our entertainment and nothing more. It will mean nothing to the Iraqis or to the insurgents. I don't suspect that the fighting will stop because of it.

You could tell that the UN general assembly was visibly cool to the presidents speech. They know that he is living a lie not only to himself but to the world. Personally I think we are wasting out time and money on this ridiculous war. Bush is failing miserably and won't admit it. I think he will find out how we feel come election time. I am really getting sick and tired of the rhetoric and infighting. We need change and a new president. I'm betting Kerry will do the right thing and end this fiasco once and for all.

The Ostrich effect

Besides the fact that the president is trying to sugar coat what is happening in Iraq, he has his head stuck in the sand ignoring the truth about what is going on in that country. I call it the Ostrich Effect. If we stick our heads in the sand perhaps it will all go away. This is typical of people reaction to a grave situation which is getting worse and not going away. They ignore what is going on, telling themselves that everything is getting better when it is not. Just the opposite in fact.
The National Intelligence Council reported that there are three likely scenarios the worst would be the country descending into civil war. Just like I said from the beginning, they blame this on the fact that the country has no representative government or institutions or traditions. In other words it is governed by a feudal system of warlords who have absolutely no concept of democracy whatsoever to put it bluntly.
The country is dying of a terminal disease for which there is no apparent cure. America's fruitless efforts are going for naught and the president is ignoring this fact. As the Washington Post said, he is living in a fantasy world of spin. The man is failing miserably while trying to cover that fact to the American people.
Kerry knows it and I hope he will let the people in this country become aware of it too. The American people need new leadership and a regime change.
Ain't that the honest truth?

Don't get me wrong

It sounds as if I hate George Bush. I don't, I just don't like his politics. I really wish he would stop pandering to the religious fanatics. Its ok to be religious, but lets not let it become the central theme of the presidency. Although he doesn't show it, his choices speak louder than words. Some of the people he has chosen to surround himself with although at first glance seem to be moderate on the outside, are actually quite extreme on the inside. Take for example John Ashcroft, a zealot if there ever was one. His unrelenting fervor to stamp out all forms of pornography is prime example. Now at first glance we agree that that isn't all bad. Child pornography should be stopped or at least curbed to the point that it is no more than a minor annoyance. Filthy porn exploring disgusting human waste and the resulting depravity of such acts should be curbed too. Access to porn on line needs to be self-regulated without government intervention. This is where Mr Ashcroft I think crosses the line. We already have laws outlawing pornography. What we don't need is the religious fanatics dictating their narrow views through government intervention on the American public.

The other big issue I have is the current push for a Anti-Gay marriage amendment to the US Constitution. The Constitution was written to give us rights, not take them away. This is an example of religious extremism at its worst. The president and the rest of the nation is missing the point. It's not about procreation or sex, its about love. Its about people seeking the blessing of the church by those who wish to declare their committed relationship publicly and in the eyes of God. Its about Equal rights not special rights. And its not about someone marring their dog or polygamy either.

I disagree on the war in Iraq. I said it before and I'll say it again. It should have been a surgical attack taking out Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden, not the Shock and Awe we saw on TV destabilizing the country and causing nations to hate us. We should have gone in and killed him and then leave. The aftermath would not have been half as bad. Yes there would be fences to mend but not nearly as much as there is now if ever.

Bush's economic recovery is a joke. His pandering to Big Business. Allowing jobs to migrate off-shore, and the so called job recovery is laughable at best. If you like slinging hamburgers for $7 or $8 an hour a recovery. Mr President, we can't live on those type of wages. Something has to be done and I don't think you have an adequate plan in place., if at all.

I don't dislike you, I just don't like what you are doing and come election time I'm not voting for you. That you can take to the bank.

Uh Oh They're covering their asses

The question still remains about Bush's stint in the National Guard. Did he actually serve or was he AWOL. Seems to me the Little Rich Kid with daddies permission skipped out to apply for college or something similar if my memory serves me right. Of course when senior Bush talks, people listen whether they want to or not. They also don't talk back for obvious reasons. When he says "Jump" they say "How High?" The problem Little Rich Kid got caught with his pants down and now the Republicans are in damage control mode trying to discredit the document. How typical.

They caught another Booboo today. How about the size of Bush's deficit? Three Trillion plus compared to Kerry's Two Trillion? Do the math folks. That's a LOT of money not to mention the continuing drain that the war is taking, Four Billion a Month? Not million, Billion. I don't know about you but I can't comprehend that much money. Its like someone pulled the plug and the water is draining out faster than it is coming in. Or to put it another way the Ship sprung one gigantic leak. Titanic anyone?

This raises more questions than it answers, I know. That is why I do this, to make people think and question. That is how I was raised. Ain't that the gosh honest truth?

Political Polls. Don't you just love it?

Reading the Washington Post and other newspapers quoting the latest polls about how Shrub is now ahead. The problem is that you have to read almost all the way to the end of the article to find out that the so called poll used a sampling of only 875 people. Now my question is where were these people located? Just one area or scattered across the USA? I highly doubt it was scattered all over the USA. Also how about the demographics? If it was in the New York or Washington area? I would bet that the figures would be skewed in favor of Bush. Why you ask? Well how about the fact that the Republican National Convention just happened to be right near by in New York City. Given the fact that people are pumped up at this point in time after all the rah rah rah from the presidential pep-talk. Don't you think? Oh yeah, how about the other three million people eligible to vote? Hogwash I say.

I really don't place much in these so called polls. If the sampling was 10,000 people that would be better or more accurate. Maybe. Then again it depends upon who, when and where. Remember the old saying; Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you read, especially now. Politicians are like car salesmen. They'll tell you anything to make a sale. Polls are the same way. It depends upon who is doing the polling and how biased they are.

Does all this polling really make a difference? I doubt it. Its just another mental exercise for the cerebral types to pump up their inflated egos. Mental puffery, if you will. Nothing more.

Just step out into the streets and you will know how the majority of the American people feel.
I don't think the American people are as fickle as they would like us to believe. Time will tell.

Can you believe this? I'm getting dumped by my Insurance Company
I own two properties, one with a major policy and the other the rental covered by a separate policy. The last two tenants were evicted for non-payment of rent and other reasons. In the process they trashed the place. Now I am rehabbing the place and I have someone staying there to make sure it isn't broken into in the process. Now get this, I've been paying on this insurance for years and years Now I finally make a claim and I get a letter saying they want to cancel the policy. Can you believe it? They claim the property is vacant. NO IT IS NOT How dare they make this assumption.
I ask you, how are you going to get tenants in a property that is trashed? Common sense says that you have to get it back in shape. What are these idiots thinking? Explain that one to me. It really corks me that they have the gall to treat their customers like dirt. So here I am ranting on about the shitty service I'm getting. Well here is the name of the company if you are interested. Just one Caveat. Deal with these people at your own risk.
Secura Insurance Company, P. O. Box 819, Appleton Wisconsin 54912
Just like car insurance, the greedy bastards want your money but when it comes time for them to pay up they cancel your policy or if they don't they raise the premium substantially. Is that any way to treat your customers? I think not.
If you guys are reading this You aren't doing us a favor by giving us coverage, we're doing you a favor by giving you our business. We don't need you, you need us. We can take our business elsewhere, and we will. Perhaps if enough of us take our business elsewghere and hit you in the pocketbook, where it hurts. Maybe just maybe you will see the light and treat is properly. Of course if you don't perhaps you should go out of business. I'm sure there will be others more than willing to take your place.
If you feel you have been treated unjustly complain to your state Insurance Commissioner and the Attorney General's office division of consumer protection and the Federal trade commission. Make them squirm and answer to their peers.

Serves them right, don't you think?

Sick and tired of greedy companies
Ain't that the truth?

Here we go again RNC spin doctors

Oh boy, here we go again. Now they are trying to paint the president as Decicive and Determined. Yeah right. Remember folks, he was determined to invade Iraq long before 9/11. Also remember that there was and still is no conclusive proof that there were weapons of mass destruction.

Are we forgetting something here?

Oh yeah he's a good wartime president. Instaead of authorizing a surgical strike to eliminate Saddam or capture him, he opted for Shock and Awe, devastating Iraq and coompletely destabalizing the country. At the same time angering its neighbors with his bullheaded tactics.

Wake up and smell the coffee, people.

The RNC is geared to raise the support of the unthinking masses and his spin doctors are trying to show him as a powereful president. Powerfvul maybe but definitely not the brightest bulb in the pack. Bullheaded, definitely. Also this guy is in bed with the religious right. They don't want you to see this so they are keeping a muzzle on the radical ones by only inviting moderate religious leaders to the convention. He'll let them back out when this is all over, you can bet on that. Then it is back to business as usual. Then they wil go back to stomp on more of our civil rights. That you can take to the bank.

So what about the economy and jobs and the defecit? How are we going to pay for that when no one is working? Talk about pandering to the greedy corporate big shots. What about medicare and skyrocketing drug costs? He doesnn't want you to think about those things, now does he?

Speaking about war, how about the toll in Iraq? Over a thousand US soldiers killed so far(and counting), after he declared victory. Please read the news. We are nowhere closer to peace. If anything under Shrub we are worse off, not better.

Now do you still want a president like that? I don't.

I TOLD YOU SO
I read an article that originally came from the Washington Post about how we are losing our grip on different cities in Iraq. The article said that the US handed over parts of Iraq to liberated Iraqis in order to restore some semblance of normalcy. In the mean time the radicals have been systematically capturing, torturing or beheading anyone involved with the US efforts to restore order. Many of them have fled along with their families and now these insurgents have taken over the cities we thought we had secured and instituted the same kind of rule as Hussein did when he was in power. How sad. Now we are holed up in secure bunkers outside these cities and no longer able to go inside without an armored caravan.

The newspapers want you to think that everything is just rosy and that we are making headway for the Iraqi people. Well I've got news for you. If you read between the lines or read other news reports you will find that just the opposite is true.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, you're dealing with a feudal society run by warlords who have absolutely no concept of Democracy whatsoever. If and when we leave Iraq it will implode upon itself, civil war will erupt and the nation will revert back to the same type of government it had before the war. Another bloodthirsty dictator will emerge. Whether he will be better or worse than the last is to be seen. My bet is that he will be just as bad or worse.

George Bush is failing miserably in Iraq and against terrorism in general. Not only that he is a vindictive and mean spirited president. Believe me, the spin doctors will be feverishly at work during the GOP presidential convention in New York painting as rosy picture as they can. Just remember you can paint roses on a trashcan but it still stinks when you lift the lid.
Ain't that the gosh honest truth?

Tidbits for a lazy Sunday morning
I'm now reading about five major newspapers on line each day to get the best all around view of the news that I can. That doesn't mean that I am any less biased in my views, just better informed, I hope. As you know the GOP will be kicking off their convention tomorrow in New York. That should be interesting. I think I will have the TV on most of the day and I will be scanning the internet for live webcasts etc.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a supporter of our President by any means. I have never been caught up in the mob mentality which has prevailed in this nation since 9/11 and beyond. If anything I cringed at the rhetoric being espoused by those in the whitehouse and the military. They want to keep their jobs, people, that's why they are doing it. Personally I think that there are many who don't necessarily agree with the Prez but are afraid to speak up for fear of retribution. Sorry to say Bush hits me as the kind of person you don't want to rub the wrong way. He is not the kind of person you want to cross and that is NOT the kind of person I want in office. Vindictive and mean spirited.
Many people say Kerry is indecisive and flip flops on the issues. I have a different view. I believe Kerry is a thinking person who carefully analyzes each situation and then decides where he will stand on the issue. Sometimes he realizes that he is caught up in the moment and makes choices that are not in the best interest of the people he represents. It seems to me that he is saying that on further examination that wasn't such a good idea after all. I have a right to change my mind and vote against it now. I respect a person like that. A person who will admit he make a mistake. Now I ask you, can you say the same of Bush? I haven't seen him admit to making a mistake yet and if he has he has only done it grudgingly if at all.
q that's my little rant for the morning. Now I'm off to church and then work keeping the bad guys at bay. You have a nice day yuh hear?

Doomsayers

Yesterday I was reading the Sunday paper and came across an article about the Al-Qaida in Iraq and the world and how they eventually will spread and terrorize civilized nations like never before. Gosh what a gloomy forecast was my thought as I read on and on. Then I wondered, just what were they thinking? Do they intend to sit on their asses and let the bad guys run roughshod over us and everyone else? He made it sound as if we have no control over future events and the results of some terrible apocalyptic future is ahead.
Unfortunately that is just what they want us to do. The bad guys want us to be afraid and take no action so that they can get the upper hand. Well that isn't going to happen.
I'm sorry people but I just can't accept that kind of story or outcome. This kid is NOT going to sit on his ass and let someone bully me or my nation or anyone else for that matter. I don't subscribe to the notion of turning the other cheek. If you slap me I'm gonna smash you but good. You pull a gun on me you better plan to use it because I'm going to kill you. No if ands or buts.
One of the biggest problems we have with the war in Iraq is politics and stupid rules that keep our hands tied behind our backs. Cut off the head of the snake and the rest will die. Take out their leaders. No holds barred. That's what I say.
One thing I learned during my outlaw biker days (my crazy period) is that you find the meanest baddest person in the group and take him out first. Then go after the leader and take him out. The rest falls apart all by it self. It is the leaders that stir up trouble and they need to be dealt with.
I only have this one last question. Why haven't they found and or killed Osama Bin Ladden?

ONLY COWARDS DO IT
Do you ever watch the movies where the villan hands a weapon to someone and tells them to pull the trigger? Or the Bully who gets someone else to do his dirty work? He never does it himself. I wonder why? Is it because he can't do it himself because he doesn't have the guts to look into the eyes of his victim and pull the trigger? Or afraid he might get hurt?
When I was a kid I was bullied by just such a person at school. He was a mean little sucker with his small group of cronies (sort of like Malfoy and his two goons in the Harry Potter books). Always making snide remards about his victim and egging on his goons to act on his suggestions which they would unthinkingly do.
This senario is playing out in high ranking political circles at this very minute. Yes I'm talking about you Mr. President. You and your gang of testosterone oozing vietnam veteran goons doing your cowardly dirtywork, all the while your Republican peanut gallery snickers in the background. How dare you.
Come on Mr. President, why don't you step up to the plate and takje it like a Man? Personally I'd be surprised if you did. You just might get a bloody nose. Something a lot of us would love to see. (Take a hint from Hermione John, where she finnally hauled off and belted Malfoy in the last Harry Potter movie.)
I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of Bullies. Its time for change.

Get out and Vote people. It's the only way we can make a change. Bank on it!
Ain't that the truth?

More on the Di Vinci Code

After reading the book I will confess that for the sake of a good read Dan Brown made up some stuff to keep us on our toes. He did however raise a lot of questions about Jesus and Mary Magdalene and the origins of the Catholic Church and religion in general. I have also purchased a couple of books (by religious authors) debunking his book. I found it interesting that they are small in size and not too convincing when you think about it.
Just like the gigantic cover up of the assassination of Kennedy and the shooter in the book depository or maybe the grassy knoll, We will never know the truth.
This to me is bigger than Kennedy. It hits at the root of religion and it's beliefs. Something the Catholic Church (all churches for that matter) don't want revealed. Would it destroy them? Perhaps not, but it would certainly cripple them in ways we cannot imagine. What if it really is matriarchal and not patriarchal? The consequences would be staggering.
Will the truth ever be known? Maybe someday, maybe never. Then maybe only a few will know the real truth. Do you?

Doesn't it really bother you?

When you want to pay a bill over the phone and the person on the other end continuously talks even when you are trying to say something? It does me. Common sense says that when someone is talking, they are not listening. I am really convinced that it takes a *type* of person to be a bill collector. Personally I don't think I have ever met one and I don't think I would like to even casually. I'll bet that most of them are abrasive, pushy and manipulative and just not the kind of person most of us want as friends. Unless of course you are some sort of masochist or a glutton for punishment or just plain stupid.

Having dealt with people for 31 years I tend to get very aggressive with these types and push their buttons (you know, good cop bad cop?) until they come unglued and snap. Then I demand to talk to their supervisor (not before I get the idiots name first, of course) then I lay into the supervisor about how discourteous the person was and nasty they were.

Not surprisingly you get responses like *he/she was only doing his/her job* Yeah right. And I'm the president of the United States. Perhaps we should not do business with people like this and take our business elsewhere. Then when they get laid off they will know. By then it is too late. Serves them right. I say, Hit them where it hurts, in the Pocketbook. Take your business elsewhere. Remember, they NEED US, we DON'T NEED THEM. Maybe just maybe they will get the hint that they should treat their customers better. Some never learn. Those that don't deserve to go out of business. Ain't that the Truth?

Another sad day for the American people.
Today on on Road Runner CNN Video headlines they posted videos and pictures from the Washington Post. More stuff on the Abu Grieb prison abuse. The government says they are not going to release them to the public. Who are they kidding? If it is in the Washington Post then it is released. What are you guys thinking? Like Duh?
They show them dragging someone across the floor and undressing others and positioning them in suggestive poses. In one picture we see someone standing with brown stuff all over his body. Dirt? I think not. More like Feces if you ask me. No wonder the Muslims are mad as hell. I don't blame them. I am too and so shouldn't you. I sincerely hope that our government doesn't just slap them on the wrist but severely punish the culprits as the law allows.
Come November I don't want to see Asscroft or Rumproast or Shrub in office. Why in the world they could let this happen is mind boggling. Why there wasn't any supervision at the prison or why things were allowed to progress as far as it did is unimaginable.
My suggestion is that the american public should start screaming bloody murder to our elected officials and demand that they punish those responsible and fire those who should have been responsible for supervising the prisons.
This is totally unacceptable and those in charge should be held accountable. They should not be allowed to get away scott free.
Don't you agree? Here is the link to the Wall Street Journal so you can see for your self http://online.wsj.com/public/us It is best to use Internet Explorer and you need to register and allow cookies to use this site.

Just got through reading The Da Vinci Code. It starts off slow and then picks up speed to where you don't want to put the book down. It is also packed with all kinds of historical information. I even went out and purchased a copy of a art book on the famous painting by Da Vinci. I also picked up about ten other books on other related subjects such as the Templers, Mary Magdaline etc. It sure raises questions about the origins of the Bible and perhaps how it was put together and what was possibly edited out to make it conform to the church's teachings we all take for granted.
Long before the book came out I had read the Pistis Sophia, the Dead Sea scrolls, books on the Illuminati and the Templers not to mention various forgotten books of the Bible. Many of the things mentioned in the book are familiar to me. Being a High Priest in the Old Religion and a follower of the Druidic tradition helps. Just as the Church had tried to obliterate The Wiccan religion and the Burning Times it does not surprise me that they probably have also tried to obliterate any mention of Mary Magdaline and her relationship to Jesus. Texts and books have been destroyed from the beginning of time by revisionists in order to change history to fit their twisted vision of reality.
Take it for what it is worth, a good read or a book that raises many questions concerning what we believe. Either way it is worth it. As Mulder said in the X Files "The truth is out there."

Well it finally happened, Good 'ol Ralphie baby (Ralph Ovidal Wisconsin's infamous or nefarious homophobe) got caught with his pants down. He decided to hold a "Secret Meeting" of his cronies to plan strategy against the "Sodomites" as he likes to call them in Milwaukee. Guess what? Little did he know his horse and pony show was infiltrated by Guess who. Needless to say copious notes were made and they even got copies of stuff he published. Along with a Journal Sentinel article about an elected official who attended the meeting. Come to find out this elected official also has been printing Ralphs propaganda leaflets to boot. (Shame on you Senator) Guess where it wound up? In none other than the hands of Action Wisconsin, a statewide gay rights organization. Needless to say the transcripts wound up on their web site and in the newspaper.
http://www.actionwisconsin.org/news/reynolds.html Read it for yourself.
Amazingly this idiot is now suing AW because the information hurts him and a fellow homophobe's reputation. Duh? Am I missing something here? Does he think the rules only apply to him and no one else?
He thinks he is going to Heaven. Boy has he got a surprise waiting for him. There stands Jesus at the Pearly Gates hand on his hip the other limp wrist pointing at him as he says with a slight lisp "Well boys, you're at the wrong gate. You need to take the elevator down the other direction. Brother Satan and his Leather Boys are waiting for you there."
Too bad he doesn't realize that Satan already has him firmly in his grasp.
Oh well.

Welcome to The Real Truth at least as I see it. I hope to cover topics of a timely manner. Things that we are involved with in one way or another either directly or indirectly.
I am you host and my name is Gary and I hope to cover current political events as they evolve by trying to dig out the truth behind them. I try to ferret out what they don't tell us and what the real agenda is, at least as I see it.
I may cover topics from politics to my computer or my current interest as it comes to pass. I will try to the best of my ability to stick to a subject and not drop it or finish the theory about it.
This is the first of many posts. It is the beginning. I hope you enjoy it.
