The Ostrich effect
Besides the fact that the president is trying to sugar coat what is happening in Iraq, he has his head stuck in the sand ignoring the truth about what is going on in that country. I call it the Ostrich Effect. If we stick our heads in the sand perhaps it will all go away. This is typical of people reaction to a grave situation which is getting worse and not going away. They ignore what is going on, telling themselves that everything is getting better when it is not. Just the opposite in fact.
The National Intelligence Council reported that there are three likely scenarios the worst would be the country descending into civil war. Just like I said from the beginning, they blame this on the fact that the country has no representative government or institutions or traditions. In other words it is governed by a feudal system of warlords who have absolutely no concept of democracy whatsoever to put it bluntly.
The country is dying of a terminal disease for which there is no apparent cure. America's fruitless efforts are going for naught and the president is ignoring this fact. As the Washington Post said, he is living in a fantasy world of spin. The man is failing miserably while trying to cover that fact to the American people.
Kerry knows it and I hope he will let the people in this country become aware of it too. The American people need new leadership and a regime change.
Ain't that the honest truth?
